Early orthodontics, also known as interceptive orthodontics, is the diagnosis and treatment of dental issues in children at an early age, typically between the ages of seven to twelve. The goal is to correct any problems with the alignment of teeth and the development of the facial bones while the child’s still growing and developing.
By correcting orthodontic problems early on, we can not only improve the appearance of your child’s smile but also prevent more severe dental issues from developing later on. Certain child may need multiple rounds of orthodontic treatment, as their permanent teeth continue to come in and their jaw continues to grow.
